Getting Crowded in the LSC, MIAA

ACU's last opportunity to play non-conference games against schools in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (MIAA) may have ended with its 19-14 win last Thursday over Northwest Missouri last week. Next year, the MIAA adds Lincoln University and possibly, Southwest Baptist University, which means NWMo and its 10 other peers in the MIAA will probably have little to no room for non-conference games in the future.  The Lone Star Conference gets more crowded in 2010, too, with the addition of University of the Incarnate Word. The Cardinals, from San Antonio, are playing this year as a NCAA Division II independent. They play at Arkansas Tech University tonight. ACU has played NWMo three times in the past year, but a fourth time will have to be in the national playoffs. Both the MIAA and LSC are formidable NCAA Division II conferences, with multiple nationally ranked teams each year.
